Class Description: In this writing and art class we will explore classic myths, legends and fairy tales, and create new ones to share with the world. This class combines writing with art projects to produce truly unique and meaningful works. We will create our own books and a collaborative class book. We will find inspiration for our stories from the worlds around us. Participants will have creative projects each camp day combining writing, imagination and art.

Teacher: Dagny McKinley has an MFA from Naropa University and a BA from the University of Western Ontario. She has published five books including The Springs of Steamboat and The Adventures of a Girl & Her Dog. McKinley has been published in regional and national magazines and has had two pieces of work performed on stage. An avid photographer, her work has been displayed in shows throughout Steamboat and has been published in regional and national magazines. When she isn’t working, she is out exploring the wilderness with her dog.
