SUSAN SCHIESSER

SUSAN’S work is inspired by the chaos and motion in nature, as it lands in a place of calm.

Living and working in California, Colorado and Hawaii as a professional artist, Susan’s three plus decades of experience in the arts have turned full circle to the narrative of her childhood, “and wow it’s fun.” Susan has displayed in numerous exhibits and several group shows in Switzerland and Germany. Her work is widely collected and graces homes that include LA film producer and actress Mimi Maynard, singer/songwriters Stephen Stills and Rijn van Mayer, corporate executives from New Belgium Brewery, SmartWool, Goldman Sachs and others. Susan is currently working on projects with the Kauai Society of Artists and the Lawai International Center.org

“In my work, flora and fauna meet to comprise a different, unencumbered view, inspiration rooted in childhood fantasy and a stream of consciousness expression. Objects are the markers which make a way, a path, negotiating a space of ideas and a transient perception of beauty and imagination.  The delicate marks contrast with block of color.  Psychological uncertainty and momentous confidence merge to process my internal dialog about sense of place into a painterly language.”
