Class Description: An active, on-your-feet approach to Shakespeare’s language and imagery. We will play games and work on characters and scenes from Shakespeare’s plays. The weeklong camp culminates with a performance sharing for friends and family. The focus of the class is on creative problem solving as an ensemble. The goal is to work together to find creative ways of staging Shakespeare’s plays
Teacher: Will O’Hare is a director, photographer, actor and educator in NYC. Will has appeared onstage at the Globe Theatre in London, worked with Julie Taymor on her production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and with Woody Harrelson as the Associate Director of his Off-Broadway production Bullet For Adolf. Will currently teaches Shakespeare in the Conservatory program at Michael Howard Studios and is a teaching artist for Red Bull Theater. Other credits include The History Boys and Mary Poppins on Broadway, The Classical Theatre Project in Toronto (two Dora Mavor Moore Award Nominations for Outstanding Production). Will is a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab.
