This experimental class will involve digging up local wild clay in the Steamboat area and then learning how to process and test the material for use in our studio practice. We will then coil build some vessel forms with the processed clay, burnish the vessel surface and decorate with clay slip. We will finish off the last day of class with an open sagger firing to create various surface effects on the finished pieces.
