Operating out of the historic 1908 Depot Art Center, Steamboat Creates welcomes thousands through its doors each year—nurturing artists, students, and visitors of all ages.

- 5,200 adult students in classes and workshops
- 5,900 art exhibit visitors and participants
- 520 Young at Art summer campers
- 12,000 special event visitors

Increasing Access & Removing Financial Barriers
- Offered low-cost rentals for creative entrepreneurs, providing 100+ hours of affordable space at the Depot (over $3,000 in reduced costs).
- Supported nonprofit partners with 130+ hours of reduced-rate space (over $4,000 in savings) so they can fulfill their missions.
- Awarded $5,000 in facility rental scholarships for local musicians to rehearse and perform at the Depot.
- Provided $5,320 in Young at Art scholarships, ensuring local youth could participate in transformative creative experiences.
Building Community Through Events & Traditions
- Hosted long-standing, free, family-friendly community events supporting local artists:
Art in the Park, Holidays in the Rockies, and Steamboat Creates’ First Friday Artwalk member shows. - Sustained beloved traditions that shape Steamboat’s identity—from Winter Carnival Snow Sculptures (10 years)to the 43rd annual Cabaret.
Supporting Emerging Artists
- Provided free summer studio space to three Young Bloods artists through the NozCaboose residency.
Strengthening Creative Infrastructure
- Kept our Free Community Art Pantry stocked for teachers, nonprofits, and youth programs.
- Hosted weekly free meeting space for the Writers’ Group, supporting a community of 20+ local writers.
- Installed 6 new public artworks across Steamboat Springs and surrounding areas (Civic Plaza, CMC campus, Dinosaur National Monument).
- Conserved 2 downtown murals and 27 public art sculptures through ongoing maintenance and care.
