Young At Art Creativity Camps

School Days Off – November 7 & 8, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Get messy and explore creativity through drawing, painting, movement, outdoor games and play, and building from your imagination with our plethora of materials. The day will begin with art and movement, include a snack break (snacks provided); after lunch the group will go outside for nature play and exploration; and the day will end with another round of dynamic art projects! Camp is geared towards grades K-3rd; 4th & 5th grade sibling helpers are welcome.

June 10 – 14

Selfie Study (ages 9-13): 8:30am – 12:00pm

This class is all about portraits – creating a face by painting, drawing, sculpting and collaging. Students will learn about famous artists, such as Matisse, Modigliani, and Picasso and how they depicted portraits. More info & Register


Vamos a Crear! Latin American Immersion (ages 8-11): 8:30am-12:00pm

Let’s Create! Students will explore Latin American countries and the styles and techniques of their art. Each day we will visit a different country through stories, a traditional art project, and Spanish language lessons.  More info & Register

Learn how construct hand built wind chimes, flutes, a pot for an herb garden, and a birdhouse in clay. Students will learn the properties of clay and how to engineer wind chimes and flutes. More info & Register

Create your own stories, learn to make them fascinating and interesting. Author and educator, Trish Carpenter, will encourage students to explore creative techniques to make their writing stand out. More info & Register

The art of printmaking provides endless space for creativity! Students will learn multiple aspects of printmaking from a master printer, including etching, woodblock, linocut, and monotypes. More info & Register

This super-fun and modern photography class will build on the fundamentals of traditional photography while using modern-day iPhones & Android mobile phone cameras to capture unique images. More info & Register

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the Depot for comedy class! Students learn from one of Steamboat’s most celebrated comedians by expressing themselves through comedy writing, Improvisational Theater (improv!), juggling and stand-up. More info & Register

Students will learn to explore human emotion and existence while simultaneously building theatrical and memorization skills. We will use monologue and poetry to construct a character and bring stories to life. More info & Register

Working with wire is a fun, approachable way to explore 3-D art. Participants will have a blast experimenting with wire bending and shaping in this half-day creativity camp. More info & Register
