Steamboat Creates is seeking an experienced Development Director to lead fundraising and revenue growth. This senior leadership role oversees major gifts, sponsorships, grants, memberships, annual giving, and donor stewardship. Ideal candidates will be relationship-driven fundraisers who are passionate about arts, culture, and community and are ready to lead both strategy and implementation.
Qualifications:
5+ years of progressively responsible fundraising or development experience
Demonstrated success achieving fundraising revenue goals
Experience securing major gifts, sponsorships, grants, or other significant philanthropic support
Strong donor cultivation and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
Passion for arts, culture, creativity, and community

Riverwalk Collective Applications
The Riverwalk Collective is a group of artists dedicated to actively developing their practice, supporting one another, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Financial Commitment
- $900 annual fee, typically paid quarterly in January, April, and July (flexible payment plans available if needed).
- All Riverwalk members must also be Artist Members of Steamboat Creates ($100 per year).
Commission on Sales
- 70% to the artist, 30% to Steamboat Creates.
Monthly Time Commitment
- 1-hour meeting (generally Mondays, 4–5 PM, during the week of First Friday).
- First Friday Artwalk each month (5–8 PM), with occasional setup/breakdown responsibilities.
- 1 gallery sitting shift per month (gallery hours: Tues–Fri 11 AM–5 PM, Sat 11 AM–3 PM).
- Assisting with show installation (rotated monthly; usually a crew of 3–4 members).
Artistic Commitment
- Participation in 4 themed shows each year (themes require planning and thoughtful work).
- Creation of at least 12 new works annually for display in the gallery.

Solo & Group Show Proposals
Each Year Steamboat Creates welcomes up to 8 solo or small group shows into Bliss Hall. Our priorities include participatory art, collaborations, innovative exhibits and fine art exhibits that display a mastery of the medium and support our local economic vitality. All artwork must be professionally framed and for sale and a 70/30 split commission is given in the following month art is sold. All applications must be current Artist Members of Steamboat Creates, or willing to become a member.
