DEPOT ART CENTER RENTAL INFORMATION

Host your private event at the historic Depot Art Center. Originally a 1908 train depot, this building has unique, rustic charm and acts as a blank canvas for your special event.  Sitting directly on the railroad tracks and the Yampa River in beautiful downtown Steamboat Springs, The Depot Art Center building offers a convenient location with ample parking and easy access to public transit.  The building is composed of 2 rental areas; Bliss Hall and the Gallery.  Both areas showcase art exhibits that change every month providing a beautiful backdrop for your event.  You can find out more information on the shows for each month HERE.

Bliss Hall, alone, will seat approximately 80 people. If you are planning a sit-down dinner for more than this number, you should consider renting the gallery.  The fee to rent the gallery is additional.  The maximum capacity of the building is 150 people

If you are interested in renting the facility in 2024 please fill out this questionnaire and we will contact you with pricing and information.

Steamboat Creates Members and non-profits please contact 970.879.9008 or Robin@steamboatcreates.org for member rates.

Policies: The Depot Art Center is a community building.  It is the responsibility of the renter to leave the facility in a clean and orderly condition and staff are generally not on site during your event.  A general cleaning, including taking out the trash, sweeping and putting away all tables and chairs used is required. A clean-up checklist will be provided.  There is a professional disinfecting cleaning fee as part of every private event rental contract. A renter’s security deposit will not be returned if damage is done or the renter cleanup checklist is neglected.

Users are charged for the time it takes to set up and clean the facility. If you need to set up the day before an event or to clean up the day after an event, you will be charged for all of the hours the facility is unavailable to others.  Please include your estimated setup and clean-up time when inquiring about the rates.

Damage Deposit: For rental of either or both spaces, a $400 damage deposit is required. This damage deposit includes your key deposit. This deposit is returned, or your check is torn up, within a week after the rental – as long as there is no permanent damage, the key is returned and the renter cleanup checklist is completed after your event and before the next users access the building.

Certificate of Insurance: For anyone who is conducting activities outside of the mission of SC, the Renter must provide proof of $1,000,000 general liability coverage with Steamboat Creates and the City of Steamboat Springs as a named additional insured for the duration of the contract. Please send these requirements to an insurance agent or broker who provides your casualty or homeowners insurance and have them provide a compliant Certificate of Liability Insurance to SC.
