Winter Carnival Snow Sculptures

Winter Carnival, founded in 1913, is a community wide tradition celebrating all things winter. Hosted by the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, Winter Carnival brings Steamboat together for a week of celebration during the depths of winter. Snow Sculptures, a tradition since 1929, connect arts and athletics. High school students and the community at large are invited to carve snow sculptures that decorate Lincoln Ave. Working in partnership with the Steamboat Springs School District, Winter Sports Club and the City of Steamboat, Steamboat Creates brings a vibrant creative spirit to this beloved part of Winter Carnival.

Thank you to all of our partners, sponsors and carving teams for helping to make the 2024 Steamboat Creates Snow Sculpture event a success! We had 19 student and community teams participate this year creating their snowy masterpieces along Lincoln Avenue. Steamboat Creates is honored to be a part of this beloved creative community tradition! If you are interested in participating in or sponsoring the snow sculpture event in 2025 please reach out to robin@steamboatcreates.org
