Leslie Bell at Riverwalk Collective Gallery – Steamboat Springs

LESLIE is inspired by the landscape that surrounds her. She is a fourth generation Coloradan and has lived in Clark for almost 30 years on top of her Mountain in the midst of an Aspen grove. Leslie created a technique painting on raw silk with creamy oil pastel that gives some of her works the effect of pointillism. Because she does an under-painting with radiating circles, it adds movement to her pieces, which gives a Van Gogh vibe. She also creates in watercolor and oil.

Leslie’s work captures the essence of movement, of Steamboat and the natural world. Her focus on rural areas creates a sense of timelessness in her works. Her affection for aspen trees, specifically the quaking aspen with shimmering leaves that has grown alone on her property and had the freedom to spread its branches and be unique, just like the artist, comes through in her work.”
