Opera Steamboat Part Time Office Administrator

Opera Steamboat is seeking a part time Office Administrator for our growing nonprofit opera company. The position will assist in the day to day operations related to the administration of programs, productions, fundraising and communications.

Reports to Administration and Development Director, while working with the Artistic Director and Production Manager as part of the Opera Steamboat team. The Administrator will be an independent contractor. Hours and work locations are flexible for much of the year and some of the work can be done from a home computer.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Administrative duties (i.e. answering phones, data entry, filing, etc.)
• Donor communications (verbal and written)
• Volunteer recruitment/management
• Social media management
• Production marketing assistance
• Online/phone ticket sales assistance
• Maintain files and records for Director correspondence and communications
• Provide box office and logistical support for production of operas, concerts, rehearsals, outreach activities, and other events.

Desired qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in business, nonprofit or marketing related field
• Must be able to anticipate project needs and meet deadlines with little supervision
• Ability to work at our Opera Steamboat office and other locations in Steamboat Springs, CO
• Demonstrated ability to support a variety of office and administrative activities
• Must be a “self starter” and able to work independently as well as together with a team
• Excellent communication, writing and editing abilities while engaging with artists, staff, board and public
• Be willing to work event related evenings and weekends
• Marketing experience a plus
• Ticket sales experience
• Microsoft Office capable
• Quick books experience a plus

15 hours per week (fluctuating based upon production schedule)

Compensation: $15,000 annually
