The story of Romeo and Juliet has been told in many ways over the
centuries, including many different musical settings. Using Shakespeare’s
text and the music of Charles Gounod, Vincenzo Bellini and Leonard
Bernstein, we have condensed this classic, bittersweet love story to its
core elements focused on the journey of Romeo and Juliet and the tragic
consequences of their decisions.
