Uncorked: Storytelling in Steamboat is a monthly storytelling night we host here in the gallery. Structured like The Moth Radio Hour on NPR, we invite members in our audience to tell their own stories; true, their own, and under five minutes, to do with the central theme of the evening. Some previous themes from our event series have been ‘Romantic Misadventure,’ ‘Run ins with the Law,’ ‘Your best Service Industry Story,’ ‘Holiday Mishaps and Disasters.” This month’s theme, coinciding with the start of the Winter Olympics, is “Olympians.” We are hoping to host Olympians in our local community to come and share their experience. It is a great event, attended by mainly locals, and fosters a great sense of welcoming openness, and community.
