Public Art Services
Artist calls, jury selection, murals, sculpture & installation — we handle it all.
Did You Know We Do This?
Many institutions don’t realize they can hire Steamboat Creates to curate, manage, and install public art on their behalf. As a Colorado Certified Creative District with 30+ years of experience, we bring a proven process and a deep artist network, all in service of your vision.

What We Offer
We provide complete public art project management — from the first idea to the finished installation. You stay focused on your institution. We handle the rest.
ARTIST CALLS & OUTREACH
Professional calls for artists reaching our regional and national network to find the right fit for your space.
MURALS & WALL ART
An extensive portfolio of murals facilitated across the Yampa Valley. Lobbies, stairwells, exteriors — we’ve done it.
ARTIST RELATIONS
Contracts, timelines, communications — we serve as the point of contact between your team and the artists.
JURY SELECTION
We coordinate the full jury process — proposals, panels, and final selection — so you get the best artist for your goals.
SCULPTURE & INSTALLATION
Bronze, steel, stone, fiber — we manage commissions and coordinate every logistical detail of installation.
ONGOING CONSERVATION
We maintain 27+ public sculptures across Steamboat and have conserved downtown murals for years.
“We handle the artists, the process, and the installation — so you can focus on the community the art will serve.”
Our Work in the Community

MURALS
From community-driven outdoor murals to detailed interior installations, we’ve facilitated wall art across hospitals, schools, campuses, and civic spaces throughout the Yampa Valley.
We match the right artist to your space — and manage everything from concept approval to final varnish.
SCULPTURE & PUBLIC INSTALLATION
We facilitated the Northern Ute Bear Dancers sculpture by Oreland Joe — a carved stone work now installed at Steamboat’s Civic Plaza.
Public sculpture is one of the most powerful ways a community tells its story. We’ve managed commissions in bronze, steel, stone, and mixed media.

Who We Work With
If your organization has a wall, a lobby, a campus, or a civic space that deserves meaningful art, we can help. We’ve worked with:
- Parks & recreation — outdoor spaces, trailheads, and visitor facilities
- Healthcare facilities — hospitals and medical campuses seeking healing, human-centered art
- Schools & universities — elementary schools to college campuses across the region
- Government & civic organizations — city halls, plazas, fire stations, and public buildings
- Private & corporate — hotels, offices, and private developments
Our Connection to the Arts
Steamboat Creates is not a vendor — we’re the Yampa Valley’s arts organization. We are a Colorado Certified Creative District, collaborating with 30+ local organizations, 100+ creative entrepreneurs, and 150+ working artists to keep the arts thriving across the region.
That network is your advantage. When you work with us, you get access to a trusted community of artists — people we know personally, whose work we believe in, and whose relationship with this place runs deep.
